Meet the creator

A woman with long dark hair, wearing a sheer black and gray dress, stands inside a church with wooden pews, a raised altar, and a large cross on the wall behind her. She appears to be smiling or singing with her hand on her chest.

Lauren Lanzaretta is a singer, songwriter, and proud gay Christian who knows what it’s like to feel torn between faith and identity. Raised in an evangelical Christian environment, Lauren spent years wrestling with shame, guilt, and self-doubt as she navigated her sexuality alongside her faith. Music became her refuge and her voice, a way to process pain and celebrate authenticity.

Driven by her own journey of healing, Lauren created the podcast You Can Be Both to help others who are walking the same path. Through candid conversations, personal stories, and interviews with affirming voices, she offers guidance, hope, and a safe space for LGBTQ+ Christians seeking to reconcile faith and identity. Lauren’s mission is simple: to show others that it’s possible to embrace both who they are and the loving Creator who made them.
